Bedlam Circus (1985-1988) is pretty much Jack's time his senior year in high school and his move to Denver, Colorado after lamenting a short stay in Ventura, California. The songs from this period were about a break up with his girlfriend from high school, Tamera Porter. It also includes a introductory swim in the Betsy Watts swimming pool where he learned how to not be forgiven. His contrived broken heart from both women led to some of his favorite songs. Bedlam Circus became Bread & Circuses which eventually led to Carousel Horn. Carousel replaced the original Betsy Songs.
